The 19-year-old Italian withdrew his dinner a few meters from the hotel, violating the bubble. Tartarini: “We are very disappointed. We will go directly to Cincinnati”
Disqualified for “breaking” the Toronto bubble. Lorenzo Musetti, who should have taken the field in the qualifiers of the Canadian Masters 1000, was stranded in the anti Covid regulations and, for a lightness, he found himself locked for two days in a hotel and now he will have to leave Canadian territory together with his coach Simone Tartarini.
Blame the dinner
The players involved in the Canadian tournament must take advantage of a delivery service and have dinner in the room, except that Musetti’s credit card did not work. At this point the player with his technician took the car to cross the parking lot 70 meters from the hotel and physically collect the dinner, paying on the spot without even getting out of the car. On his return Musetti was immediately called to order by the organizers who informed him of the expulsion from the tournament: “We stayed two days in the room between swabs and controls, without being able to go out. And we are both vaccinated. Then they told us that we did 14 days of quarantine or we had to leave the country. And so tomorrow we leave directly for Cincinnati. It goes without saying that we are very disappointed. ”
