A resident of Moscow sued the Perekrestok supermarket 17.5 thousand rubles for expired products as compensation, writes RIA News with reference to the press service of the Moscow City Court.
A Muscovite bought baby food, cheese, butter and coconut at the store. At home, she discovered that all the products she bought were expired. The cheese had expired four days ago, and the coconut was over a month old. The administration of the outlet returned the money to the woman for the damaged products, but refused to reimburse additional compensation, in connection with which she went to court.
The Russian woman’s claim was satisfied, and the court agreed that “the seller’s actions to sell expired food products are unlawful.” The supermarket was ordered to pay the victim 5,000 rubles in moral damages, an additional 2,500 rubles in fines for not doing so voluntarily, and 10,000 rubles in compensation for legal expenses.
Earlier, the Russian woman could not wear wedding dresses and sued their cost from the showroom.
