The introduced system of QR codes gives an effective result in the fight against coronavirus. This was announced on Monday, November 15, by the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko during a meeting of the Presidium of the Coordination Council under the government to combat COVID-19.
“We observe that the system for introducing QR codes gives high efficiency, has shown itself <...> effective for containing morbidity,” Murashko said.
Earlier that day, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov pointed out the need to approve the bills submitted to the State Duma on the use of QR codes in public places and on some types of transport. According to him, individual decisions that are made within the framework of special powers by the regions speak of relevance, necessity, expediency, inevitability.
On the same day, immunologist, candidate of medical sciences, general director of Clinical Excellence Group, Nikolai Kryuchkov, emphasized that taking into account the legislative initiative to introduce QR codes for visiting public places from February 1, 2022, it is quite possible to achieve 80% of the population’s immunization by summer. He clarified that QR codes are a powerful incentive tool.
On November 12, the director of the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology, Alexander Gintsburg, predicted a positive effect from the introduction of QR codes in transport, cafes and shops. He added that this would also have a positive effect on vaccination rates.
On November 10, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova called on all Russians who have no contraindications to get vaccinated against COVID-19. She drew attention to the fact that all vaccines registered in Russia are safe and effective.
Against the background of a worsening epidemiological situation, the Russian authorities are urging residents to get vaccinated in order to protect their health and take care of their loved ones. Citizens are vaccinated for free. Five vaccines against coronavirus have been registered in the country: Sputnik V, which became the first vaccine against COVID-19 in the Russian Federation and the world, as well as Sputnik Light, EpiVacCorona, EpiVacCorona-N and KoviVak.
