During the period in which he headed Kinoshita, in São Paulo, chef Tsuyoshi Murakami, born in Hokkaido and with stints in restaurants in Tokyo, New York and Barcelona, received the most coveted awards from specialized critics — including a star in the Guia Michelin. In fact, four stars, in the years 2015 to 2018, when he left the venture of restaurateur Marcelo Fernandes.
For the joy of those who have been missing Murakami and the delight of those who have not yet tasted his food, he is back at a new address, in Jardins. “We don’t have a Michelin star here. The star is you”. Complimenting those who book one of the two available dinner times (served at 6:30pm and 9pm) is part of the show.
In the room with just a table and a dozen chairs arranged along the counter, Murakami cooks and chats as if he were in a masterclass. Alongside his wife, Suzana, and son Jun, he offers three experiences: Murakami (R$430), with five courses and a dessert, Sushi (R$650) and 2022, in nine times, with caviar ( BRL 1,100).
It is useless to try to describe the sensations that food causes. As he himself likes to say: “If you shed a tear, it’s normal”. Information and reservations: www.murakami.net.br.
