The electoral result pushes however Francesco Boccia, Head of Local Bodies of the Democratic Party, to rejoice: “With the ballots in Sicily and in the Regions with a special statute this round of administrative has ended and also the results in the Sicilian municipalities have confirmed the national trend, with the candidates for mayors of the progressive coalition and reformist from Favara, San Cataldo, Lentini and Vittoria who beat the right-wing candidates “.
“We are very satisfied with the result obtained also in Sicily, thanks to the commitment of all the militants and the intense and fruitful work done by the regional secretary of the Democratic Party Anthony Barbagallo and of the entire ruling group – he adds – Joining the coalition in every city, expanding the field to alternative political forces to the quarrelsome right that lead the Sicily Region, was fundamental. The Democratic Party has had the merit of having always sought the reasons for the reformist coalition, progressive and open to alliance with the M5S and to all those movements that have equity and social justice in their DNA. These ballots have also shown that the path traced in this administrative round is the right one; with unity and cohesion we also win in Sicily “.
