Through the Justia site we see that Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. has registered a new trademark called Multiversus. According to the recording, it is a video game. The recording began on September 30, 2021. Now, a rumor claims that it is a Smash Bros.-style fighting game and that it is in development at NetherRealm.
The rumor, shared on Reddit, states that this is a new IP, a fighting game within which there will be a whole series of characters from various franchises. According to the leak, Multiversus would include various characters, including Shaggy (from Scooby Doo), Gandalf (from Lord of the Rings), Tom & Jerry, Batman, Fred Flinstone, Mad Max, Johnny Bravo and Harry Potter and Ron; the latter two, however, seem to have some problems with rights, so they are not necessarily present.
According to the self-proclaimed leaker, who has given no evidence and never shared any other information in the past, development has been underway for a while but there is no information on an announcement. The idea was born, according to him, following the shaggy meme in Mortal Kombat. Warner Bros. liked the idea of combining different intellectual properties to create a Smash Bros-style tag team battle. For the moment, we know nothing else.
As always, remember that this is a rumor and therefore you have to take it with a grain of salt. The mere fact that the origin of the game is due to the Shaggy meme seems absurd, but for now we cannot say with certainty that what is indicated is a fake.
The only sure thing is that the brand Multiversus it was recorded by Warner Bros., so something is in development. We hope to find out what it is as soon as possible.
Staying at Warner, Hogwarts Legacy will be among the protagonists of the State of Play according to an insider.
