“It is a very important award, I am very honored to have received it, because it recognizes the efforts made in recent years in trying to find a new way, a new approach to resolve the Multiple Sclerosis that we are working on. An approach that concerns a new mechanism that we have discovered in our laboratory, namely some molecules called resolvins that are able to resolve inflammation, repair damage and turn off autoimmune responses. In this way we will design new drugs capable of resolving inflammation rather than blocking it as current drugs already do which however have side effects”.
