Martin, here’s the second zero
Jorge was perhaps right Martin when he stated that on his Pramac the sensations were not perfect at the front. Not even after qualifying the championship leader was happy with the feeling with the front tire, and the crash at San Donato during the Mugello Sprint proved him right: sudden closure of the front and second zero of the season, the first in the Sprints.
Now the Spaniard’s gaze turns to tomorrow’s race. A race in which he will start from pole position and hopes to be more competitive (today he was only able to play defense from the start), also to defend his lead in the drivers’ standings now reduced to 27 points over “Pecco” Bagnaia and 32 over Marc Marquez.
Martin’s words
“I knew today would be a difficult race because there was no time to feel anything important, the sensations were much worse than I expected. We have to make a good step forward for tomorrow, even if I don’t know what we will do“, this is his comment to Sky Sports MotoGP.
“I trust my team and Ducati, they will do their utmost to find something that can help me, but after 2-3 laps it looked like the tire had 80 laps. The bike was difficult to ride, and especially when I let go of the brake it was difficult to turn, while Marc and ‘Pecco’ had much more. We have to work and it will certainly be difficult tomorrow too, but on Sunday I don’t think I’m as far away as today in terms of race pace, so let’s hope we do well“.
