The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made a formal announcement on Tuesday that MPL Sports Apparel and Accessories will be the official kit and accessories sponsor of India’s national women’s, men’s and under-19 cricket teams to replace Nike. The board’s top council approved the deal on 2 November.
MPL has tied up for November 2020 to December 2023. It has started with the Indian team’s tour of Australia where Team India will wear the new jersey. BCCI President Saurabh Ganguly said, “The agreement with MPL Sports over the team kit is the beginning of a new chapter. Through this, millions of fans can be reached easily.
Apart from the jerseys of the MPL Team India, the related accessories will also be made available to the cricket lovers. Board Secretary Jai Shah said, “Under this partnership cricket jerseys and accessories of the Indian team will be readily available not only in the country but also abroad.” MPL is currently associated with two IPL teams Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
