The totanera company, founded in 1995, has 400 employees in its new location
The Totanera company Moyca Grapes inaugurated yesterday its new 16,000-square-meter facilities in the La Capellanía industrial estate in the municipality of Archena. A headquarters in which a staff of close to 400 people already works. According to the company’s plans, some 1,200 people will work at this new center at the height of the table grape campaign. The Minister of Water, Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, Environment and Emergencies, Antonio Luengo, and the mayor of Archena, Patricia Fernández, were in charge of officially inaugurating the facilities, together with the founder, Luis Cánovas, and his son and current manager, Antonio Luis Canovas.
The director praised the work of the managers of this company since the farmer Luis Cánovas, together with his wife and children, founded it in 1995. «It is an example of management, work and effort over more than 25 years, whose we are seeing the fruit right now, with a strong Murcian company, with an unstoppable expansion».
For her part, the mayor applauded the strength of the industrial fabric of Archena and confirmed the need to support this type of investment “because they are the engine of job creation and a source of wealth for our city.” The councilor stressed that its implementation “represents a strong stimulus for the creation of jobs in the municipality, since it has had an ambitious plan to attract employment.” Finally, she thanked Moyca for choosing Archena to expand his business, “since it is a clear expression of confidence in the economy of our city.”
The family business Moyca Grapes, with almost 30 years of existence, currently has five centers for handling and packaging table grapes, all located in Totana and occupying 27,000 square meters, to which should be added the 16,000 of the Archena plot. The firm has a total workforce of close to 2,000 workers.
