The investigation into the fall of the Stresa-Mottarone cable car, which last May 23 killed 14 people, is expanding. In the request for an evidentiary incident there are in fact 14 suspects, including the two companies Ferrovie del Mottarone and Leitner, who took care of the maintenance of the plant.

Initially, there were three suspects for the Mottarone massacre: the manager of the cableway Luigi Nerini, the operating director Erico Perocchio and the head of service Gabriele Tadini. The latter is the only one under house arrest. The updated list of suspects now also includes Anton Seeber, chairman of the board of directors of Leitner, Martin Leitner, managing director of the same company and Peter Rabanser, executive in charge of Leitner’s Customer Service, delegate for the environment and safety relating to cableways. finally, among the new suspects there is also Rino Fanetti, the Leitner employee who made the cast head of the upper hauling rope of the cabin that crashed last May.
