Motorsport|Robin Räikkönen said in an interview with HBL that he enjoys driving.
Formula number one world champion Kimi Räikkönen son Robin Raikkonen9, is quickly following in his father’s footsteps, or should I say tire tracks. The boy has already been talked about as a future formula star.
Robin, who competes in karting almost every weekend, said Hufvudstadsbladet in an interview, his thoughts on training. It all started when his father took him to the track. Robin trains two or three times a week. In addition, he plays football.
Although there are already several seasons of races in the background, the young driver vividly remembers his first race.
“It felt really good, but at the same time I was a little scared,” Räikkönen describes.
He recently won the microclass championship of the Rotax Max series of karting, which was celebrated by the whole family. The Räikkönen family lives in Switzerland, where Robin drives karting in the CRG stable’s mini class.
“Driving competitions are the most fun in karting,” says Robin.
He also reveals to HBL his favorite team, which is Ferrari. He also admits that he wants to compete in F1 in the future.
However, he has a moderate attitude towards the future.
“Let’s see what the future has to offer.”
The family with has visited the F1 world. The last time Robin was photographed with his father was at the end of August in Monza, where Räikkösten’s entourage met, among other things, the reigning world champion Max Verstappen’s and multiple world champion Lewis Hamilton.
Robin’s godfather Ferrari’s F1 influencer Gino Rosato commented on the meeting between Robin and Verstappen on his Instagram account.
“Pikku-Ässä’s eyes were cloudy. His goal is clear: to be like Verstappen and Kimi’s father! Robin is already a little rocket. Long road ahead, but he is on his way to F1,” Rosato wrote on Instagram after the race weekend.
