A total of 263 people have died in the Isle of Man’s CT races since 1907.
Manx the dangerous street track has claimed several casualties in a short time. An Irish motorcyclist died last Monday in the Isle of Man TT. Among other things, the news was reported The Guardian.
An experienced driver, 52-year-old Davy Morgan, made his 80th TT start and had a fatal accident in the final lap of the track. The death toll is already the third in a week.
French sidecar passenger Olivier Lavorel, 35, died in Saturday’s race. Last Wednesday died in a practice run 29-year-old British Mark Purslow.
Manx races have been raced on motorcycles since 1907, and the TT races held there are the world’s oldest motorcycle race.
Race also considered the most dangerous in the world. 263 people have died so far in the TT races held on the island’s public roads, the Manx Grand Prix and the Classic TT.
The 60-kilometer-long track contains 264 bends, several of which have poor visibility. Safety arrangements are low compared to the demanding track.
For the past two years, the Games have been on hiatus due to the Corona Pandemic, the longest break since World War II.
