First in the morning, second in the afternoon behind Jack Miller: in the rain Johann Zarco he lived a Friday as a protagonist in Misano with his Ducati, a positive day after many difficulties not only related to the compartment syndrome that required an operation to recover maximum strength in his right arm.
“I arrived here in good shape and starting in the wet always helps to start with confidence. I have time to understand how to behave on the track and I like that. The weather in the morning surprised me, I was hoping to do better in the afternoon, but the bike moved a lot. There was a limit, the dry line gave confidence, but the rear tire didn’t have good grip “, explained Zarco to the microphones of Sky Sport MotoGP. The two-time Moto2 champion also analyzed a 2021 from two faces, one before and one after compared to the summer break after which Zarco was no longer able to shine as in the early stages of the championship: “After the break I started quite well in Austria, but there were no good results. In the races afterwards I struggled, but in the last three I found confidence and fun in the race. I had to overcome some physical problems and also some life things that they are private and stay at home“.
Zarco also expressed his opinion on the world championship fight between Quartararo and Bagnaia: “I think the Ducati is the strongest bike, when Pecco wins it’s because he manages to put something more than the others. If we think of Yamaha, Fabio’s strength is that only he makes the difference. Yamaha is thought to be easier, but in my opinion the Ducati is the best, Bastianini is also on his way. My second part of the championship will be a lesson for 2022. I had started well, perhaps too well. The desire to do well has perhaps made me worse ”.
