MotoGP responds to F1 and the ‘Helmet-cam’ that debuted with Fernando Alonso in the Belgian Grand Prix, offering viewers a new subjective compared to traditional on-board. In fact, during the first free practice session of the Algarve Grand Prix, the Suzuki rider Alex Rins brought the ‘shoulder-cam’ to his debut, i.e. a camera applied directly to the Spaniard’s suit near the left shoulder.
The result in terms of images is quite interesting. The perspective allows you to have a close look at the dashboard and half-handlebars, but above all you can appreciate how physical driving a motorcycle is, in particular a prototype of the premier class. On the occasion of braking and changes of direction, in fact, it is right on roller coaster and the fact that Portimao is a track characterized by continuous differences in height has nothing to do with it.
A must-watch video! 🚨

After the ‘demo’ in free practice we will see if the director and Dorna decide to give space to the ‘shoulder-cam’ also in the race, perhaps for a few seconds in the first lap to appreciate the tussle. MotoGP is certainly continuing its evolution, in terms of performance and also of television offering in an attempt to involve the public more and more at home and to honor the pilots.
