It was absolutely the day of the Suzuki: the GSX-RRs won on Friday in Lusail, in the debut of the new MotoGP World Championship. Alex Rins in fact he snatched the best time (1: 53.432) and Joan Mir the third position, for a podium with strong blue hues and very high speed: 355.2 km / h, the peak reached by Rins, the highest result of today. And in Qatar, having a performance engine makes a lot of difference. That’s why the two Spaniards have great confidence ahead of tomorrow’s qualifying.

Alex Rins: “Today was a good day, we worked hard in the pre-season and that seems to have paid off because the bike works well, even a little better than we expected! I was able to be fast on both the used and new tires, and that gives me some confidence for the next few days. Obviously, we need to keep working and pushing because the competition is high, but it’s certainly a great start“.

Joan Mir: “It’s only the first day, but I’m very happy with how everything is going, I feel good with the bike and we can really see that the package has improved compared to last year. We understood what was needed to be faster and competitive, and now everything seems a little easier, this is really important. I have tried all the tire options and I liked the feeling I had with all of them, I can’t wait for tomorrow“.
