MotoGP, day of special liveries
To honor the 75th anniversary of the World Championship, the MotoGP teams will take to the track this weekend with 11 special liveries. They could only do so at Silverstone, the temple of motorsport, with the aim of marrying the tradition of the past and the emotions of the present.
Among the first photos that reached the media are those of theApriliawho chose the “Perla Nera” livery inspired by the Aprilia RSV 250 of 1994, 1995 and 1996, historically linked to Max Biaggi (winner with this bike in the 250 class of three consecutive World Championships and 22 GPs between 1994 and 1996) and absolutely iconic among enthusiasts all over the world, not just among fans of the Noale-based manufacturer.
Aprilia livery, the photos
Here are all the photos of the RS-GP.
Biaggi’s words
“30 years after my first World Championship with Aprilia, seeing that bike with the “Black Pearl” livery is an incredible emotion. It’s a mix of gratification and romance. We did that part of life together, Aprilia and I, dominating the Championship from 1994, the year of the Corsair, for the following three years. A livery that has remained in the hearts of all the fans even after 30 years, it’s truly a great emotion”, commented the Roman driver.
The Trackhouse livery
This is the Trackhouse livery instead. A patriotic choice by the American team: on the fairing of the RS-GPs of Miguel Oliveira and Raul Fernandez there are star-spangled idols like Kevin Schwantz, Kenny Roberts, Wayne Rainey and Freddie Spencer.
