This is perhaps the solid combination of recent years, which has written history for 28 seasons and which, despite the difficult moment it is now going through, renews mutual trust until 2024: we are talking about Honda and Repsol. The two parties have reached an agreement that they formalize today in which they announce the continuation of the collaboration for the next two seasons in MotoGP.
The union between Repsol and Honda began in 1995 and have since become a point of reference in what was first the 500cc class and then MotoGP (since 2002). Since then, 15 world titles have been won, with Mick Doohan, Alex Crivillé, Valentino Rossi, Nicky Hayden, Casey Stoner and finally Marc Marquez. The Spaniard is currently the last Repsol Honda world champion, with the championship won in 2019.
In recent seasons, the official team has been experiencing a difficult moment, the last victory dates back to 2021, when Marc Marquez climbed to the top step of the podium at Misano a year ago. The Catalan also brought Honda back to the podium two weeks ago in Australia with second place and is the best rider in the overall standings, in 12th position.
The goal for next season is clear: to get back on top and leave behind the difficulties of the last two years. To do this, Honda and Repsol continue to join forces also in the name of innovation and sustainability. The ecological aspect is also increasingly prevalent in motorsport, which is why we will try to respond to the request of Dorna, FIM and IRTA to reduce the carbon impact and to adopt renewable fuels in MotoGP. The goal is to have 40% non-fossil fuel in 2024 and then reach 100% in 2027.

Repsol has been working for years on decarbonisation and the development of renewable fuels as an efficient and sustainable alternative for mobility. Being able to use high-level competitions as a testing ground for our products in these circumstances is an even more exciting challenge ”.
