The appeal launched on Thursday by Marc Marquez to Ducati to force the Italian manufacturer to provide an official bike to the Gresini team in 2025 was taken up by the Prima Pramac Racing team manager, Gino Borsoi, at the start of the Italian Grand Prix on Friday, as the former rider has declared that he will not give up one of the two bikes that will be available to his team next year.
Pramac has a contract with Ducati for 2025 and 2026 which would maintain the status it has had in recent years, that of a team associated with the manufacturer with access to two official bikes, and it is up to them to exercise it and make it effective. On the other hand, however, it has an offer to join Yamaha and become a satellite team of the Japanese manufacturer.
On Thursday, when Marc Marquez was taken by surprise by Ducati’s tip-off to the media that Jorge Martin will be Pecco Bagnaia’s teammate next year in the official Ducati team, the current Gresini rider threw a dirty look at the company from Bologna, assuring “Pramac is not an option for me”, without knowing the reasons.
The refusal to join Paolo Campinoti’s team and to have a GP25 next year with the full support of the manufacturer, the same status that Martin now has, is an appeal to the manufacturer to break with Pramac or force him to give in one of the official bikes in Gresini next year.

Speaking to DAZN, Borsoi ruled out this possibility and threw down the gauntlet when asked to evaluate Marquez’s harsh refusal to sign a contract with Pramac.
“We have a lot of respect for an eight-time world champion, I can only say that Pramac is a great team, we are a big family and every year we do an increasingly better job. In 2023 we made history and won the team championship, the first “Every time a private team succeeded, we were fighting for the world championship and this year Jorge Martin is leading the championship and we have a new opportunity. Every time we go on track we are a better team,” said Borsoi.
The former rider went further and when asked if the idea was to stay with Ducati or move to Yamaha, he insisted again. “We have the two official Ducatis and next year we will continue like this,” he said, closing the door on any concession to handing over one of his 2025 bikes to Marc Marquez.
Such a stance would make it even more likely that the eight-time champion will give up, after just one year, riding a private Ducati to start a new adventure under the wing of Red Bull in the KTM structure, in the official team or at GasGas Tech3 .
