After the fall of Aragon, the Japanese was back on track at Motegi despite the contrary opinion of the doctors, gritting his teeth and undergoing a second surgery to worsen the injury. At that point, the LCR team bet everything on Honda test driver Nagashima for the last two races of the calendar, held in Thailand and in Australia. While in Asia he had finished with a disappointing 22nd place, at Phillip Island his performance had improved with a 19th place finish. Now, with the certainty of racing in Sepang, Nagashima will try to improve further pending fully comforting news on the recovery of Nakagami, expected on the track in Valencia.
