After four stop races, Joan Mir it should finally return to its place. The return of the Spaniard is in fact scheduled for the next MotoGP race, the Australian Grand Prix which will take place at Phillip Island. Suzuki announced it.
Mir was the protagonist of a bad crash on the first lap of the Austrian Grand Prix, getting “astragal-calcaneal-navicular ligament injuries with grade I – II instability“. The Suzuki rider had to give flat rate in four consecutive appointments (Misano, Aragon, Motegi and Buriram) and now he is finally ready to get back on his bike, after electromyography to assess the condition of the nerves and muscles of the right ankle has given comforting signals: “Everything seems to be improving and I was very happy to hear the latest news from the doctors after my checkups. It seems that the injury is healing well and the recovery work carried out has paid off. I’m not 100% yet, but I feel it is time to go back because the situation has improved a lot compared to the previous weeks. I want to spend these last three races of the season with my team, so I hope to feel good on the bike and to be able to ride well“. The 2020 world champion will undergo further checks with circuit doctors next week.
