Marc Marquez he returned to the track today to ride a Honda, albeit a ‘road’ one and not a MotoGP one. This is the announcement, disseminated by the HRC team’s social channels, which shakes the world of MotoGP on the eve of the Misano weekend. This is the first public outing in the saddle of Marquez after the fourth operation on the humerus of his right arm, who had interrupted his participation in the 2022 championship. The Spanish champion, who just today announced the separation from the historic manager Emilio Alzamora, completed several laps on the ‘home’ track of the Aragon Motorland riding his traditional training bike on road, the CBR600RR. Honda has released several photos of the test, from which rather positive feelings seem to have emerged for the eight-time world champion.
The very fact that the Japanese company wanted to put this event in the spotlight, highlighting the smile of the Catalan centaur at the end of the day, suggests that # 93’s recovery path is taking significant steps forward. The objective declared by Honda in recent weeks was to have Marquez attend the next ones tests scheduled on the Misano track on 6-7 September 2022. One can think that today was a kind of dress rehearsal in that direction. It is not yet clear whether Marquez will be able to play a few more races in the current championship, but certainly the signals that the 29-year-old from Cervera launched today can give some glimmers of hope to his fans.
