On the eve of the seventh round of the MotoGP season, we can say that we finally have the definitive calendar for 2024. A few minutes after the official cancellation of the Indian Grand Prix (postponed to 2025), the communication of the relocation of the Grand Prix also arrived of Kazakhstan, which will take the slot vacated by Buddh.
The Sokol event, already canceled last year, is thus confirmed in 2024 and will take place over the weekend from 20 to 22 September. Initially, the Kazakhstan GP was scheduled for June, but the floods that recently hit the country forced the event to be postponed to a later date.

Now comes confirmation from the International Motorcycling Federation: Kazakhstan replaces India (whose cancellation was made official a few minutes ago, as anticipated by Motorsport.com) and will open the waltz of the Asian stages. From Sokol, in fact, we will leave for Indonesia to begin the last and decisive part of this season full of confirmations, surprises, but also unknowns.
With the relocation of Kazakhstan this season, only two matches have been canceled in 2024. Before India it was Argentina’s turn, initially scheduled for the start of the championship. The Termas de Rio Hondo event, however, was canceled due to government problems and now, without Argentina and India, the final calendar has 20 races. This is the same number as last year, so 2024, which on paper started out as the longest season ever in MotoGP history, is equal to 2023.
