Marc Marquez tries to make up for lost time: the Spanish champion, who returned to Honda today in the Sepang tests after the diplopia, is doing comparative tests with three frames available and with two different aerodynamic outfits.
Marquez, having missed the Jerez tests, had not had the opportunity to evaluate the new front wings on the sides of the windshield. The Iberian first took to the track with the old version characterized by a single profile, while then he dedicated himself to the double solution that Pol Espargaro had already been able to appreciate in Andalusia, and to which he is still dedicating himself today.

Honda has devoted resources to aerodynamic research, showing much more sophisticated fins than usual that represent a clear attempt to increase vertical load to avoid front wheel wheelie on acceleration.

The solution adopted by the Japanese highlights two rather inclined downward profiles that are closer together than the more open versions seen in the recent past. The upper one is twisted and the pointed apex aligns with the front fairing airbox following the concept of the previous solution.
This flow conveyor shows a blowing useful to increase the load without an excessive increase in drag. Marc is evaluating the behavior of each single solution and is proceeding step by step, aware that he must “discover” the material that his colleagues have already been able to evaluate.
