The Borgo Panigale and Mattighofen manufacturers are still busy completing the technicians’ puzzle for the 2023 season and the latest move was the appointment by Ducati of Massimo Branchini, who has worked with the team for over ten years. Ajo-KTM and who will make the leap to MotoGP to become Johann Zarco’s new track engineer in Prima Pramac Racing.
The exchange of blows began with the departure of Jack Miller towards KTM, who also convinced his current technical boss, Cristian Pupulin, to pack his bags and join him in the garage of the Austrian manufacturer.
The arrival of Enea Bastianini in the official Ducati team in place of the Australian suggested that his current technical boss, Alberto Giribuola, would follow him. However, the Italian engineer has committed to KTM for 2023, taking on a role of technical coordination.
This forced Bastianini to revise his plans, asking Zarco’s current engineer, the Italian Marco Rigamonti, to join him in the factory team in 2023.
This move left the Frenchman’s box unguarded, who had declared at Misano during the tests: “I already know who I will work with, but for the moment I cannot reveal his name”.
According to what Motorsport.com has learned, the name of the technician is Branchini, with whom Zarco has already worked in Moto2 in Team Ajo, also winning two world titles.
