The front row in the home race always has a special flavor, however Marco Bezzecchi was unable to take advantage of it, because both in the Sprint and in the race on Sunday he remained in traffic at the start. However, if in the race on Saturday he had a problem with the lowering device, today he managed to get a better start, even if he soon dropped out of the fight for the top positions.
Forced to make a new comeback, the Pertamina Enduro VR46 team rider played it strategic by staying on the track when the rain started to fall and the choice proved to be correct. He gradually became familiar with the treacherous conditions of the track engaging in battles that allowed him to come back and then cross the finish line in fifth position thanks to the overtaking of Alex Marquez in the final.
“It went well, this is the best we can do because the other bikes are a bit lower,” he explained. Bez at the end of the race and with the satisfaction of having still completed a good weekend. “I’m happy because we made a solid start. My fork unlocked and that’s already an incredible step forward. After that, things didn’t go badly.”
“The rain? It didn’t last long and the track was normal, the only problem is that here the front is in a lot of difficulty when you’re many laps behind, so I had a lot of trouble overtaking, first Miller, then Alex Marquez. But in the end I managed to beat him, so perfect. Today I managed to do a pretty good race. Obviously it’s not what I wanted, but I’d say it was a positive weekend”, summed up the rider from Viserba.

The one who was betrayed by the rain was Jorge Martin, who chose to come back and take the risk of mounting a wet tire. The Pramac rider admitted his mistake and almost everyone lashed out against his choice, but Bezzecchi supports his thesis and appreciates his courage: “Can I say? In my opinion Martin took a risk that is fair. With the rain it can happen that it starts a little and then a deluge comes down or that nothing happens. He tried to come back hoping for a deluge, but then it didn’t arrive. He took a risk that is fair…”
“He was second in the race, he could have followed Pecco,” he continued, speaking of Martin’s choice. “In his place, I would have followed Pecco, but I agree with Martin’s choice because those are the things that go great for you and you’re a phenomenon, if you’re lucky you’re Jesus Christ, if you’re unlucky you’re an idiot. It’s that fine line… But he’s not an idiot. He tried, I agree with his choice, it just went badly. Those are the things that can happen. I don’t see it as something on the radio, he tried, but it went badly.”
This weekend, the topic of radio for MotoGP riders has returned to the fore, as has been done for years in Formula 1. The topic is very divisive and Bezzecchi is among those who do not agree with the possible introduction: “In my opinion, it is difficult to listen to someone who speaks to you while riding the motorbike, because you are not still. Without taking anything away from the car, but they are sitting there, still in there. It is very tiring, I don’t even know what it is like, but I don’t know if I could listen or understand a message that someone tells me while I am riding the motorbike”.
“Could it be dangerous? I don’t know, because I don’t listen to it! Obviously we should try. I tried, but you can’t even hear it because the bike makes a lot of noise and we can’t use the earplugs they have because ears are essential for balance. It’s a completely different way of riding on our vehicle compared to cars. They are two very different vehicles. In terms of show it would certainly be there, but for me it’s complicated to make it a real thing,” said the rider of the Pertamina Enduro VR46 team.
