Bastianini talks about rivals
Enea Bastianini he knows he will start the 2024 season with the sights set on him by the many rivals who would do farces to steal his seat in the official Ducati team. Spain does not miss an opportunity to nominate Marc Marquez with a view to 2025, perhaps after a championship studded with victories in the Gresini team.
The Italian driver, when asked a specific question by Marca, honestly explained: “I think it's difficult to talk about it now. We'll see what happens. I I hope that Enea Bastianini has a place in the official teambut obviously it's a little early.”
Bastianini has no doubts about the favourite
After sharing the garage with Bagnaia, in the races in which he was not injured, Bastianini has no hesitation in indicating the man to beat for 2024: “Bagnaia or Marquez? No Marc, the favorite is definitely Pecco”. But the rider from Romagna also fears extra Ducati insertions: “All Ducatisti are dangerous. Having said that, we have to see the tests, observe the KTM with Brad Binder, the Aprilia with Vinales or Aleix Espargarò, but also the Honda with Marini.”
On a personal level, Bastianini obviously hopes for a simpler year: “2023 was a bit complicated, but I'm sure this year will be different. The end of the championship wasn't bad, I was at a good level.” The Italian then downplayed the rumors that he would be replaced by Martin for 2024, which spread towards the end of the year: “I knew little or nothing. Officially no one told me anything, so I don't care.”
