The closing of the 2021 MotoGP Championship in Valencia will see the Aprilia RS-GPs return to wearing (RED) colors. The partnership between (RED) and the Piaggio Group has been going on since 2016 and, in recent years, has seen Aprilia Racing at the forefront in supporting (RED) founded in 2006 by Bono and Bobby Shriver, raising awareness on the battle against global health emergencies, including AIDS and COVID, also the world of the World Championship and fans from all over the world.
To the great commitment in the fight against AIDS, (RED) now also supports the fight against COVID and its devastating effects on the communities where the pandemic has hit the hardest. To date (RED) has generated nearly $ 700 million for the Global Fund, helping over 220 million people.
For this reason, for the last race of the season, the whole Aprilia team will wear red and the Aprilia RS-GPs of Espargaró and Viñales will take to the track with a special livery, totally dedicated to the same color, where the logo will be clearly visible ( RED) in support of the fight against pandemics.
An initiative of which Aprilia Racing and the entire Piaggio Group are proud to be promoters and protagonists. Thanks go to all the partners, sponsors and riders who, with great sensitivity and sense of responsibility, have collaborated in the success of such an important and high social profile project, agreeing to the realization of the RS-GP with livery entirely dedicated to ( RED).
“First of all I am happy to return to wearing the colors of (RED), it is important that our wonderful sport also makes its closeness felt to those who are struggling in the world to improve this difficult situation. Low temperatures in this period are not helping us but if we really want to aim for important results we must also work on this limitation. Our season has undoubtedly been positive, with encouraging signs and above all a constant competitiveness throughout the championship. and then head to 2022! “, said Aleix Espargaro.
“For me it will be the first time with the colors of (RED) and I must say that I will be proud to bring my contribution to the effort of so many people who, in recent months, are fighting against the pandemic. And of course it will also be my first time with the RS-GP on this circuit: I don’t know how we can behave but this is true for us on every track. I hope the weather is stable to be able to work on the RS-GP, the idea this weekend is to focus on the driving style rather than on large setup variations. We will therefore start from a stable base and try to make the most of it, “he added Maverick Viñales.
