Race 2 of Assenvalid for the world championship of MotoEcan be defined as one of the shortest ever in the history of the category: after the bad weather conditions and the risks associated with the wet track, the Race Direction has in fact shortened the duration of the race to only 6 turns, however never completed by the pilots. In fact, during the fourth round, Miquel Pons and Marc Alcoba were the protagonists of one fall at the fifth corner, which prompted the commissioners to exhibit the Red flag.
At that point, once the health conditions of both pilots were ascertained, the stewards decreed the early closure of the event, which was won by the Brazilian Eric Granado. The departure, however, had seen the excellent shot of Mattia Casadeiwho had completed the first lap in front of everyone, to the point of trying a small escape on compatriot Matteo Ferrari, fighting for second position with the Swiss Dominique Aegerter. With the passing of the laps, however, the comeback of Granado took shape, who took the lead a few minutes after the race was interrupted, thus closing on the highest step of the podium in front of Aegerter himself and Casadei, able to finish on the podium after overtaking carried out on Ferrari. Due to the red flag, the race direction will assign the halved points to the drivers who have finished in the points.
