The Sterilgarda Max Racing Team will continue with Husqvarna in the next season of the Moto3 World Championship, but will do so with a completely renewed line-up, with Romano Fenati making the leap towards Moto2 after bringing the Swedish brand back to victory.
This morning, in fact, Max Biaggi’s team announced that its riders will be two veterans of the category, the Japanese Ayumu Sasaki and the Scottish John McPhee.
Sasaki made his debut in 2016 and in recent years he has won two podiums, one of which this season, third place in the Aragon Grand Prix.
McPhee is in the 2010 World Championship, when he had four races in 125, while since 2013 he has been a permanent presence on the Moto3 grid. In nine seasons in the cadet class he took home 14 podiums and three victories.
“From the moment we brought Husqvarna Motorcycles back to Moto3 the Sterilgarda Max Racing Team has proven to be a competitive partner. We know that for 2022 the team will change shape but it will be another good chapter for this project and we are eager to see which he will be able to achieve fantastic results in this special category, “said Pit Beirer, Husqvarna Motorcycles Motorsport Director.
