We continue to speak Italian in Qatar. In fact, after Andrea Migno’s triumph in Moto3, the Italian flag flies high on the podium also in Moto2. To impose himself on the Lusail track was an amazing one Celestino Vietti, capable of dominating the race from the first to the last meter. In fact, starting from pole position, the Italian driver of the Mooney VR46 Racing Team annihilated the competition with a perfect race, without flaws and in which his final success never really appeared in the balance. Behind him, however, there was no lack of battles, right up to the last corner.
He passed in second place under the checkered flag Aaron Canetwhile the third step of the podium was occupied by the English ‘veteran’ Sam Lowes. The last corner of the Lusail race also brought controversy, due to a dangerous contact between Ai Ogura and Augusto Fernandez who risked putting both out of the game just a few meters from the checkered flag. Somehow both drivers managed to stay on their feet, crossing the finish line in sixth and fourth position respectively. Among them the second Italian of the day in the top-5, Tony Arbolino.
Amazing lights to flag victory for Celestino Vietti! 👏

The debut in the category of Pedro Acosta. The young Spanish phenomenon, champion last year in Moto3, started tenth, but his ambitions for a comeback were immediately extinguished by a contact in the very first corners. Slipped to the bottom of the group, the KTM talent soon realized that comebacks in Moto2 are much more difficult than those in the light class. Acosta finished in 12th position on the finish line, still collecting some points. To aim for the title on the first shot you will need a mental shot. For a rider of his talent, however, no goal is precluded.
