After the twists and turns of a crazy race in Moto3, even the cadet category of MotoGP gave emotions from the green light to the checkered flag, under which an excellent Augusto Fernandez. The Spaniard of the Red Bull KTM team thus triumphed in front of a heroic Ai Oguraauthor of a comeback crazy from 16th to second position, won in front of Jake Dixon. The Briton can also savor the joy of the podium after the thrill experienced in the last meters before the finish line, where he managed to defend himself from another protagonist of the race such as Celestino Vietti. The Italian, who started from 11th place on the grid after yesterday’s crash in qualifying, was unable to get on the third step of the podium for only 33 thousandthsin a race that, as happened for Ogura, nevertheless rewards a comeback with applause.
A Dutch GP turned out to be disastrous for Sam Lowes, who, after going long at the first corner at the start, lost control of his bike on lap 4, ending his race with a crash on the Assen circuit. An episode generated while Vietti, also the author of a bad start, suddenly found himself behind him Ogura, who on two occasions managed to avoid a sensational fall and managed to stay on his bike. All while in the top positions of the standings, Alonso Lopez set the pace in front of Dixon and Arenas, followed by an excellent Schrotter4th after having recovered six positions at the start.
The German himself, during the eighth lap, even managed to conquer the provisional leadership of the race, only to throw away any hope of victory with a crash that took place four laps later. All this, together with a drop in Lopez’s performance, favored the return of Ogura, Vietti, the idol of the house Bendsneyder and Beaubier towards the top-5, even more so in the final laps of the race, characterized by the crashes of the French and above all from Arenas, betrayed by the battle with his teammate Dixon for the conquest of the podium. In the same situation, Ogura then managed to take advantage of this challenge to overtake the Englishman, thus launching himself towards 2nd place behind an unattainable Fernandez. Vietti’s goal of being able to reach 3rd place, however, vanished at photo finishwith a 4th place finish which however allows him not to lose too much ground in the noble areas of the world rankings after a difficult weekend for him.
