After having conquered the Moto3 title in an authoritative and surprising way at the age of 17, the spotlight has turned on Pedro Acosta, which soon became one of the protagonists of the drivers’ market. In fact, in recent days the KTM centaur – who has chosen to go to Moto2 for 2022 – has made no secret of having had the opportunity to go directly to MotoGP, but of having preferred a more gradual growth. And so on the morning of Monday 22 November the rider from Mazarron was mounted on the Kalex of the KTM Moto2 with the number 51 and completed 41 laps over the course of the entire session. The wait and curiosity was all about the lap times of the young Spanish talent, who scored a 1’42.895 which placed him in thirteenth position one second behind the top. For the KTM centaur there were several short runs, aimed at adapting the bike to his riding style.
The quickest of the private Jerez de la Frontera test session was Celestino Vietti, who stopped the clock at 1m41.706, two tenths faster than Aron Canet and Fermin Aldeguer. Fourth position for Jake Dixon in half a second, followed by Simone Corsi, Augusto Fernandez and Tony Arbolino. Two more days are scheduled on the Spanish circuit.
