The electric of the German company, the BMW i4 M50, will be the new Safety Car that will be used in the Moto E championship. It replaces the i8 and will debut on August 15 at the Red Bull Ring on the occasion of the Austrian GP.
The Moto E, the single-make series that runs alongside the MotoGP where only the two Energica Ego wheels are used, will have a brand new Safety Car. This is the BMW i4 M50 which will replace the previous BMW i8. It will debut on August 15th at the Red Bull Ring for the Austrian GP. From a stylistic point of view, the new Safety Car is distinguished by a dark gray livery with acid green contrasts on the double kidney, on the lower part of the sides and on the rear fascia. There is no shortage of the writings and the various brands of the sponsors, present on the entire bodywork. The alloy wheels are black with blue brake calipers, in combination with the air intakes positioned in front of the front wheel arches. Also present is the usual LED light bar located on the roof, an identified sign of every self-respecting Safety Car.
The power of the electric
As mentioned, the technical basis of the new Moto E Safety Car is that of the BMW i4 M50. This is the new electric sedan recently presented and expected to debut on the market next November. The two electric motors, one positioned on the front axle, the other on the rear, ensure a power of 544 hp, with 795 Nm of torque. The declared autonomy is 510 km and the sprint from 0 to 100 km / h is 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 225 km / h. The aesthetic imprint clearly remains that of the i4, a sedan with particularly muscular and “exotic” lines, which is distinguished by the maxi-sized double front kidney.
