On August 17, the case of a mother who cut off her lover’s genitals after finding him sexually harassing her 14-year-old daughter was presented.
The events occurred in the town of Lakhimpur Kheri, 160 kilometers from New Delhi, the capital of India.
The 36-year-old woman would have arrived home when she realized that her boyfriend, a 32-year-old lawyer, was harassing her daughter. At that moment the mother tried to save her relative.

The man was immediately captured by Indian police, charged with suspicion of rape under the Asian country’s Law on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses.
However, given the seriousness of the injuries, the suspect was admitted to intensive careand according to the Indian newspaper, the man is in critical condition.

Later, in an interview with the Indian newspaper ‘The Times of India’, the citizen declared that she had come from work when she found her partner in full action when she got home: “I was working on the farm when the incident occurred. Luckily, I got home just in time and caught him red-handed.”
Likewise, he also expressed that he did not feel any regret about what he did to his then partner with whom he lived for two years: “I brought a knife from the kitchen and cut off her private parts to teach her a lesson. I don’t regret what I did.”

These types of attacks on the genitals are known in India as ‘bobbitising’, in which there is a direct attack on a person’s reproductive tract. They usually occur in circumstances such as: discovery of infidelities, fights or attempted rapeaccording to the Indian authorities.
The name comes from the case of an American woman named Lorena Bobbit, who in 1993 cut off her husband’s penis with a kitchen knife.
