In the Ostankino district of Moscow, two pensioners died: a wardrobe fell on an elderly man, and his wife, who caught it, had a heart failure, reports “Moscow’s comsomolets”…
According to the newspaper, the couple lived in a two-room apartment on Verkhoyanskaya Street and were not deprived of the attention of their relatives. The son’s family lived nearby and periodically visited 84-year-old Alexander Ivanovich and 81-year-old Galina Dmitrievna. The daughter-in-law brought them groceries and called them daily. Relatives even offered to hire a couple of social workers or a home helper, but the retirees refused to help.
Galina Dmitrievna herself went to the store, led her life and looked after her husband. A man in his youth received a concussion of the head, the disease worsened by old age, he became blind, had difficulty walking, sometimes he had seizures, in early July 2021 he was in a psychiatric hospital.
The daughter-in-law invited the pensioners to bring food on July 8, but the elderly couple refused, but made an appointment in a few days. Later, a relative said that she would not be able to come because of the child, and asked to postpone the visit, but the couple was offended. After that, the pensioners did not get in touch, their phone was constantly busy.
When the relatives suspected something was wrong, they arrived at the apartment. On July 23, EMERCOM officers opened the door and found the bodies of pensioners. Alexander Ivanovich was crushed by a bookcase that was not attached to the wall. The furniture with the books touched the telephone wire, so the telephone was busy all the time. Galina Dmitrievna’s body was found in the next room. According to preliminary information, the pensioner became ill from what happened to her husband and her heart refused.
Earlier it was reported that in Moscow, the retired colonel and his wife hid their deaths. The capital’s apartment has become a kind of crypt for a couple of elderly spouses. Their bodies were found at least a month after their death.
