TASS: Moscow is outraged by the tone of Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan’s statements about Russia
Moscow is dissatisfied with the latest statements by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan about Russia, made during an interview with Italian media. About this in conversation with TASS said a diplomatic source.
The interlocutor of the news agency noted that it also refers to the public statements of the Armenian leadership, including the comment of the Armenian Foreign Ministry on August 31. According to him, Moscow considers them “unacceptable in tone and content, with an eye to shifting responsibility for its own miscalculations and mistakes to Russia.”
He also pointed out that they are trying to artificially oust Russia from the South Caucasus, while the West uses Armenia as a means to achieve this goal. The source stressed that Russia, as the closest friend and neighbor of Armenia, does not intend to leave the region, and called on Yerevan not to become an instrument in the hands of the West.
On September 3, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in an interview with the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, said that dependence on Russia in the field of security is wrong.
Earlier, Pashinyan noted that Russia, due to its actions or inaction in the South Caucasus, is moving away from him. At the same time, he stressed that he does not know for what reasons this happens.
