Three months after the first negotiations between Ukraine and Russiathe positions of the parties are further apart than ever while the largest military escalation in Donbas since the start of the conflict is recorded.

“A barbarian can only be stopped by force”said this Saturday the head of the Ukrainian negotiating team, Mikhailo Podolyak, present at the talks between the parties since the first meeting on February 28 in Minsk.

Podolyak assured that Ukraine will fight against Russia “until the end” since it has “no other options”.
Both countries have blamed each other for the deadlock in the peace talks, whose last meeting between the parties was held at the end of March.
Nowadays, Moscow urges kyiv to accept “the real situation”on the ground, which would possibly imply the loss of control over part of the eastern and southern territories of the country.
With negotiations at a standstill, the Russian offensive in Donbas is intensifying, where Moscow’s troops have made more progress this week than during the entire month.
This Saturday, the Russian Army confirmed that it took control of the town of Limánan important railway junction in the east, key to the advance of Russian troops in the direction of the cities of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.
However, Ukraine’s Deputy Defense Minister, Hanna Malyar, assured this Saturday that the fighting in Limán continues, so it cannot be said that the town has fallen into the hands of the Russians.
“The situation is difficult, but the Ukrainian troops are resisting,” said official Malyar, in statements collected by the Unian agency.
