Dmitry Rogozin, the former director general of Roskosmos and the head of the Tsarskie Wolves military advisory group, said that mortars with “smart” sights will be used in the special military operation zone (SVO) in February.
“These mortars in the required quantity for trial operation will be at our disposal during February. We, accordingly, will test them in battle, ”he said in an interview“RIA News”, published on January 24.
According to Rogozin, such a sight allows you to quickly open fire on the enemy. Last year, the invention was tested on 120-mm mortars in the NVO zone, and after that the company-developer NPO Avtomatika improved the sights.
The 120-mm mortar is widely distributed in all units, Rogozin stressed. Purchases of “smart” sights will begin in droves after the “Royal Wolves” note their usefulness in combat.
Rogozin also announced that two versions of the Marker combat robot, reconnaissance and strike, will begin to operate in the special operation zone to protect Donbass. According to him, the robot can be equipped with anti-tank missile systems, as well as a coaxial heavy machine gun.
Earlier, on January 14, it was reported that Russian forces deployed a modernized T-90M Proryv tank as part of combat missions in the Kherson direction. As tank commander Ruslan said, during the special operation in Ukraine, the T-90M proved to be a reliable and convenient combat vehicle.
Russia’s special operation to protect civilians in Donbass, which began on February 24, continues. The decision to hold it was made against the backdrop of the aggravated situation in the region due to shelling by Ukrainian troops.
