Juarez City.- The Municipal General Directorate of Public Works (DGOP) continues with the construction of new facilities at the Díaz Ordaz Youth Center, with a total investment of four million 551 thousand 455 pesos. This investment is part of the 2023 Participatory Budget program and aims to expand and improve the educational infrastructure of the center, located on Francisco Pimentel Street, Gustavo Díaz Ordaz neighborhood.
The project includes the construction of a second level in the center, which will have five classrooms, bathrooms for men and women, stairs, as well as electrical, plumbing and air conditioning installations. Currently, the work is 80 percent complete. The activities in progress include the installation of windows, hydraulic systems, ceramics and painting in the classrooms. The completion of this phase will allow for an adequate and modern space for classes and workshops, which will benefit the youth of the community.
“This investment is not only aimed at improving the educational infrastructure, but also includes a complementary project in the vicinity of the youth center,” the agency said. The rehabilitation of a park in front of the center was recently completed, which now has children’s games, furniture and a dome, DGOP reported. This park, already in use, provides an additional recreational space for the residents of the neighborhood, promoting recreation and well-being for the community.
Daniel González García, Director of Public Works, highlighted that the completion of these projects will reflect an increase in the capacities of the Díaz Ordaz Youth Center, allowing for better service for young people and contributing to the development of the area. The investment in these infrastructures demonstrates a commitment to improving public resources and creating spaces that encourage learning and recreation. The Participatory Budget allows citizens to influence the decision on how funds are distributed for community projects.
