Just a few meters from the junction with federal highway 57, a trailer was abandoned by “the smugglers”, leaving more than a hundred undocumented immigrants looking to cross the border with the United States inside.
Realizing that the heavy unit did not move and that the oxygen was beginning to lack, the migrants managed to get out of the box by opening its door. “They abandoned us; They charged us 3,000 dollars and abandoned us,” said one of the Central American migrants.
They stated that they had boarded the trailer in Villa Hermosa, Tabascoand that their destination was Piedras Negras, Coahuila, after which they would try to move to Eagle PassTexas, United States.
“There are boys, girls; all are in very poor health; They are dehydrated, they were deprived of oxygen for a long time, ”said a security element.
The migrants indicated that they had been inside the box of the heavy unit without it moving for at least 4 hours, after which time they made the decision to do everything possible to get out.
