Mexico City.- The Migration’s national institute (INM) of Mexico reported this Sunday that from January 1 to April 13 of this year it intercepted 115,379 migrants, of which 15% were minors, mainly from Central American nations.
In a statement, Migration of Mexico said that by country, Honduras added 21,965 migrants; Guatemala accumulated 21,954 and Cuba he scored 15,907.
while of Nicaragua 8,270 were accumulated, of The Savior 6,931 and 40,352 of other nationalities; although of the latter 6,188 are of extracontinental origin, mainly from Asia and Europe.

Meanwhile, of those of legal age, by gender, the country has received 27,862 women and 69,868 men.
While of the total number of migrants, 17,649 are minors, of whom 10,226 are boys and 7,423 girls.
Of that total, 14,105 were accompanied by an adult or guardian and 3,544 were traveling alone.
The Institute, which depends on the Ministry of the Interior (Interior), pointed out that Chiapas is one of the five entities where the largest number of migrants have been located, with 25,768 followed by Mexico City (13,213), Baja California (11,507); Tabasco (10,099) and Veracruz (7,794).
Since October 2018, and despite the tightening of surveillance on the southern border of Mexico, thousands of migrants from Central America, Haiti and Cubaenter Mexican territory with the goal of reaching the United States.
The arrests, which the INM calls “rescue”, are a reflection of the record migratory flow that the region is experiencing towards the United States, whose Customs and Border Protection (CBP) detected more than 1.7 million undocumented immigrants on the border with Mexico in fiscal year 2021, which ended in September.
Mexico deported more than 114,000 foreigners in 2021, according to data from the Migration Policy Unit of the country’s Ministry of the Interior.

Besides, the Mexican Commission for Aid to Refugees (Comar) received a record of 131,448 refugee applications in 2021. Of these petitioners, more than 51,000 are Haitians.
