Morbidelli skips the Sepang and Lusail tests
There Franco's preparation Morbidelli for the 2024 World Cup it was born on the wrong foot. Indeed, she has never been there and never will be. The #21 will miss the rest of the Sepang tests (riders on track until February 8) and those of Lusail (19-20 February) due to the bad accident on the second day of private testing in Portimão, in which many MotoGP riders raced together with those of the Superbike. The Prima Pramac Team announced it.
The social ad
With this post the team confirmed the absence of Frankie from the winter tests. In his place there will be Michele Pirro.
The statement
“Yesterday afternoon Morbidelli was visited by Prof. Franco Servadei, neurologist and Dr. Roberto Donati for a further evaluation of his condition after the bad accident that occurred during the private tests in Portimão“, reads the note. “The Roman rider of the Prima Pramac Team, despite being in good general condition, he preferred to undergo a thorough examination before deciding whether or not to leave for Sepang“.
The return hypothesis
The hope of the team and of Frankie is to recover for the start of the World Cup: “After the results of the various tests, which revealed a good general clinical picture, Prof. Servadei nevertheless advised Morbidelli, as a precaution, to do not resume sporting activity for the next three weeks, so Franco will not even be able to be present at the next official test in Qatar. His return to the track is therefore scheduled for the first GP of the 2024 MotoGP season scheduled, again on the Lusail International Circuit, from 8 to 10 March“.
