Alvaro Morata against the mayor of Corbetta. The AC Milan champion accuses him of having violated his privacy and that of his children, having publicly revealed that the footballer has moved to live in the town of 18 thousand inhabitants on the outskirts of Milan.
“Alvaro Morata is from Corbetta, here we go!”, he wrote in recent days on Facebook the mayor Marco Ballarini taking up the typical slogan with which the famous sports journalist Fabrizio Romano announces the new transfer market moves.
“No, it’s not an early April Fool’s joke,” the post continues: “The champion Alvaro Morata is our new fellow citizen of Corbetta! The Spanish striker, Milan’s new signing, is completing the paperwork for the official transfer to his new (wonderful) home in our city.”
Ballarini, 49 years old, has been mayor of the Milanese municipality since 2006 at the head of a coalition of civic lists from the centre-right area. “You know – he concludes – I am a huge Inter fan, but I am pleased to welcome Alvaro Morata into our big Corbetta family!”. A public welcome which, however, was not at all liked by those directly involved.
“Dear Mayor – writes the Spanish center forward in a story on Instagram – thank you for violating my privacy. Fortunately I do not own any valuable property, the only treasure are my children whose safety has been disturbed by you. I thought that the Municipality of Corbetta could guarantee me a certain privacy, but instead I find myself having to move house immediately thanks to its inability to use social media and protect its citizens”.
Morata, 31 years old, captain of European champion Spain, has been at Milan since last summer. In August the footballer and his wife, the Italian model and influencer Alice Campello, announced their separation, but the two seem to have remained on good terms.
The now former couple has four children, who until a few days ago had continued to live with their mother in Spain. Now, however, the children, together with Campello, have moved to Milan to be close to their father. Morata wanted to keep their new life in Milan confidential, but the post from the mayor of Corbetta messed up his plans. And now the footballer wants to find a new accommodation.
