Crime is abhorrent and abhorrent in all its forms and images, but we are all shaken by the crimes that fall on the soul, especially if they were committed in a public place, and someone documented them with photography or video, to compound our pain with a behavior that represents a crime in itself and raises a state of moral and psychological controversy about the psychology of a person filming a scene Or a victim of an accident, when he could have intervened to save the injured, the dead, or the deceased!
There is no doubt that it is a disgraceful behavior, reflecting how the obsession with social media and the desire for fame and spread overwhelmed authentic human values that everyone should possess!
In light of the Emirati legislator’s awareness of this frightening shift in the behavior of some, he closed the door to the crime of photographing victims and violating their sanctities with deterrent and strong materials, in the new Law No. 34 regarding combating rumors and cybercrime, which included a very important amendment in this regard, as it was criminalized in Article No. 44 Photographing accident victims, whether they are dead or injured, and publishing or transmitting their photos.
The aforementioned article is considered a fine and tight text because it dealt in detail with the sanctity of private life, and ways to protect it within a tight and deterrent legal framework. These two penalties shall apply to anyone who uses a computer network, an electronic information system, or an information technology means, with the intention of attacking the privacy of a person or the sanctity of the private or family life of individuals without consent and in cases other than those authorized by law through eavesdropping, interception, recording or transmission broadcasting or disclosing conversations, communications or audio materials.”

The methods stipulated in the article also included taking pictures of the injured, the dead, or victims of accidents or disasters, and transmitting or publishing them without the permission or consent of the people concerned.
In view of what is happening in other countries of crimes that shake the security of their societies and cause them to panic, because of their filming and dissemination on social networks, without respecting the privacy of the person or taking into account the sanctity of an injured or deceased person, the importance of updating the system of laws in the country and keeping pace with all the new crimes and disgraceful behaviors In addition to the vigilance of the security services and their standing on the lookout for anyone who might be tempted to violate the privacy of others, this is a guaranteed way to protect us, even from ourselves.
