Self Golds was considered the Super Mario of Moon Studiosthe new action RPG currently in development at the studio will be theirs The Legend of Zelda: these are the words spoken by the creative director Thomas Mahler to give an idea of the ambitions of this project.
We’ve known since 2020 that Moon Studios is developing an action RPG with Private Division, and Mahler thought it was time to reveal some more details about this game, not yet officially announced but decidedly alive and concrete.
“If Ori was our Mario, this is our Zelda: that’s what I thought when I started making the prototype of our latest project in 2015,” wrote the creative director. “After that we were busy developing Ori and the Will of the Wisps.”
A “distraction” that has not affected the qualities and ambitions of the new game by the Austrian studio, on the contrary: “That situation allowed us to keep our title warm for a little longer and thus be able to transform it into a full-blown action RPG.”
Inevitably questioned by his followers, Mahler granted some more information, as far as possible: this mysterious action RPG will boast a graphic style close to that of Ori, given that it is a distinctive trait of Moon Studios.
He also explained that all the new projects start from a gameplay prototype, which is the most important aspect, and that the game in question will be released on all platforms, therefore it will not be an Xbox exclusive as happened with Ori, although then the game could also land on Nintendo Switch.
