In a publication of Twitterthe CEO Thomas Mahler, mentioned based on a retweet announcing the Microsoft situation, says that precisely for this reason they have never agreed to sell themselves to a large company, since they do not want to be bought and then be closed permanently. Adding that the same thing happened in the era when EA was one of the great editors in the industry, and that the result was basically the same.

I lived through the ’90s and saw what happened when EA acquired smaller studios. Never more.

Author’s note: It is fortunate that the creators of two great metroidvanias have not yet sold themselves to any huge company. It would be best if they stayed that way, there is no problem with that.
