Moon Knight is the series Disney + dedicated to the Marvel anti-hero, which will arrive on the streaming service of the House of Mickey Mouse on March 30th. However this spring, it could also be the first and last time we will see the character in his own dedicated series. During an exchange through Oscar Isaac and Jared Leto in fact, it seems that the actor has missed a very important detail regarding the future of the series on Moon knight.
The actor said about his character:
I’ve never heard of Moon Knight before, although when I was younger I collected comics. I’ve heard of Morbiusbut never of Moon Knight. I don’t know what this process was like for you, as it is one limited series (single season ed).
As of today we actually know the future of only two other series of the MCU, which are Lokiwith its second season set to begin production this year, e Marvel’s What If…? which should be released as early as 2022.
Clearly we haven’t received any official statements from Marvel or the production yet, so that information may turn out to be not entirely accurate, but given that the source of the news is the actor himself, it’s highly likely that Moon Knight won’t see a season 2 coming.
Moon Knight is directed by Mohamed Diab, who will also play the role of executive producer, while Jeremy Slater is the lead writer. The cast of the awaited series, in addition to the aforementioned Oscar Isaac, will see the presence of Ethen Hawke, who will play the part of a mysterious villain: the mercenary Marc Spector.
Thesis on the future annexed: if you are wondering if Moon Knight will go back to what we have seen in recent years, the answer is “probably yes”, given that it has been declared that this TV series is part of the phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. If you haven’t done so yet, we invite you to retrieve the trailer for the series at the bottom of the news.
