His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced the approval of the conditions for granting residency to a retired foreigner, whereby retirees can complete their residency in the UAE, and his Highness added, “We welcome everyone to our country.”
His Highness added that, during the Cabinet session, the policy of special funds in the federal government was also approved, whereby government institutions, according to the controls and standards, can establish financing funds that serve their development programs. His Highness explained that the goal is to raise the productivity and flexibility of government work to achieve better results for the public.
His Highness said on the official account on Twitter: “I chaired a cabinet meeting at Expo 2020 Dubai, during which we approved the request submitted by the Ministry of Interior to start testing self-driving cars on UAE roads, and submit a report to the Council for permanent approval in the future if the ministry adopts this technology. in coordination with the competent authorities.
His Highness stressed that “the UAE will be the first country in the Middle East and the second in the world to test self-driving cars on its streets. Our goal is for this type of car to be safer, safer and better quality. We are awaiting the Ministry of Interior’s report, in coordination with the Artificial Intelligence Office, on the results of the tests to take the appropriate decision.”
