The Golden Jubilee Celebration Committee announced the start of the countdown to the fiftieth National Day celebrations of the United Arab Emirates on December 2, 2021, inviting everyone who considers the UAE their homeland to participate in the celebrations.
For the first time in the history of the UAE, the National Day celebrations begin fifty days before the expected date on the second of December, with the launch of an initiative bearing the slogan “Fifty Days for Fifty”.
His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, announced the designation of the year 2021 as “the year of the fiftieth”, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the founding of the state in 1971. Since April 2021, everyone who considers the UAE to be a homeland has been invited. For him to celebrate his accomplishments and honor the “first dreamers” in their families and write “Letters to the Future” about the progress they would like to see in the next fifty years.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, said: “Fifty days and the Emirates will complete fifty years as one country, its emirates are united, their hearts are united, its people raise one flag, rule for one constitution and wrap around one president. Fifty years, so that our celebrations will begin on December 2, 2021, God willing.”
For his part, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, said, “After fifty days, our beloved country will celebrate the fiftieth National Day, the historic day of unity, a source of our pride and joy, and happiness for those who live among us. We are inspired by the legacy of the past that enriches the march of UAE towards a brighter and more prosperous future.”
